Jeremy Cormier found his passion for dogs at a young age while helping a family friend with his dog training business. This family friend, Sal Sala, was more of a father figure for Jeremy as he took Jeremy under his wing picking him up every Tuesday and Thursday to run dogs in South Windsor, CT.
Jeremy learned the importance to a well rounded dog from the kennel to field as he helped round up the dogs, birds, and training equipment. Through these experiences Jeremy knew one day he wanted his own dog and to fully train the dog with minimal assistance. Jeremy took on this endeavor with his first dog, Jameson, a Vizsla out of Szizlin’ Vizsla’s in Marlborough, CT. Jameson taught Jeremy the highs and lows of dog training which brought Jeremy to where he is today.
Jeremy continued his quest through dog training while aiding with local police departments in training their K9 units. Jeremy’s knowledge in dogs goes beyond the normal obedience and gun dog training. With multiple facets of training, Jeremy can tailor the training to the owner and dogs needs.
Jeremy’s passion drives him to succeed in making a well rounded dog that anyone can enjoy at home and in the field.
My name is Matthew Hiser, and I’ve been training dogs for over 5 years now. As a dedicated professional, I work with all kinds of dogs, from puppies to service dogs, but I specialize in aggressive behavior modification.
I strive to provide effective solutions for managing canine aggressive behavior, recognizing triggers, and transforming them into well-balanced companions. At V3 CANINE ACADEMY, we understand the challenges that come with owning an aggressive dog, and we are committed to helping you address these issues head-on.
With years of experience in canine behavior modification, I have honed my skills and techniques to facilitate positive transformations in even the most challenging cases. Growing up in Canterbury, Connecticut, surrounded by a variety of animals, I developed a deep love for dogs and other creatures. Despite my focus on showing horses and livestock, including rabbits, sheep, and cattle, my affinity for dogs has remained strong.
I continue to show cattle and sheep, blending my passion for agriculture with my newfound love for dog training. My family has been a constant presence of different dog breeds, ranging from small lap dogs to larger breeds that think they’re lap dogs. The Australian Cattle dog captured my heart early on with its loyalty, and I currently own one, along with a delightful crossbreed. These dogs epitomize the true meaning of a girl’s best friend.
Joining V3 Gun Dogs & Canine Academy in May 2023 marked my entry into the world of dog training. Although relatively new to this field, my experience with various dog breeds and their unique personalities has enriched my understanding of canine behavior. I am dedicated to ensuring that the dogs I work with not only meet their owners’ expectations but also enjoy their downtime, allowing them to be dogs and mentally prepare for their next training session.
In the realm of dog training, I specialize in two main areas. Firstly, I focus on overall basic home obedience, striving to mold dogs into good model citizens both within and outside their homes. Since starting in May 2023, I’ve successfully trained numerous dogs in basic obedience, transforming them into entirely new and well-behaved companions. Secondly, I specialize in training hunting dogs, aiming to develop powerful and quality bird dogs across various breeds. While people often ask me about the enjoyment of spending the day with dogs, my true satisfaction comes from witnessing the transformation these dogs undergo during training and the positive impact it has on their owners. It’s the joy of seeing dogs become better companions and the fulfillment of helping both dogs and their owners create lasting bonds.
From Willington, CT, I find joy in the outdoors, particularly hunting pheasants with a diverse array of dog breeds.
Presently, I am proud to serve with the Willimantic Police Department, actively contributing to the training of our K9s in the role of a certified decoy. My passion for the outdoors extends to waterfowling, where I share memorable experiences with my black lab, Zuko. Engaged in hunt tests, I am pleased to have played a significant role in Zuko earning his JH (Junior Hunter) title before reaching his first birthday. Beyond my personal pursuits, I am actively involved in retriever training, fostering skills that go beyond the typical hunting scenarios. Additionally, my commitment extends to assisting in police K9 training, where I contribute to the development of these highly skilled and dedicated working dogs.
In both the civilian and law enforcement realms, my dedication to canine training and development is not just a profession but a way of life, reflecting a deep connection with dogs and a commitment to their excellence in various fields.
